Luke has been Director of Safety & Risk Control with Lanier Upshaw since December of 2002 and provides safety and risk control services to our clients. He assists clients with safety management systems, fleet programs, specific worksite risk management programs, regulatory compliance issues related to OSHA and DOT, and provides risk assessment surveys. Luke holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Safety Education from Troy State University and is currently an Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OSHT) and Certified Loss Control Specialist (CLCS) Candidate. Luke has been in the Safety and Risk Management profession since 1990 and worked in private industry for two Fortune 500 companies and worked for several years with a Professional Employer Organization (PEO). Luke has been involved with the American Society of Safety Engineers, the World Safety Organization and served as an OSHA Outreach Trainer for both general industry and construction. He is currently a Co-Chair for the West Central Florida Safety Alliance.
Luke hails from Jacksonville, Florida and now lives in Lakeland, Florida with his wife and newly adopted daughter from China and son from Russia and has two teen-aged daughters. Luke enjoys spending quality time with family and travelling. One of his favorite quotes is, "It's better to be safe a hundred times than to die once."
