Lanier Upshaw

Mercedes has worked in the Human Resources industry since 1980, and joined Lanier Upshaw in 2004. She holds a degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. She holds her Senior Professional in Human Resources SPHR) designation.

Originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico, Mercedes and her husband now reside in Lakeland, Florida. She is actively involved in the Mid-Florida Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Polk HeartWalk, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and the United Way. Her favorite quote is by Mother Theresa, "Life is an adventure, dare it!"
