McGhee and Turner Granted Westfield Old Man on the Fence Award

Old Man on the Fence

Today two Lanier Upshaw employees were recognized by Westfield Insurance with the Old Man on the Fence award.  Angel McGhee is a Senior Account Manager that has been a member of the Lanier Upshaw team for 18 years. Toby Turner is a Senior Vice President and Commercial Lines Risk Consultant.  Toby has been a member of our team for 25 years. A big congratulations to both Angel and Toby!

The Old Man On the Fence is given to insurance agents who have partnered with Westfield Insurance for 25 consecutive years.  With fewer than 3,000 of these statues awarded, it represents the deep relationships Westfield honors and enjoys with it’s appointed agency partners.

Westfield as a company is selective in the agencies it will partner with, so a long career in the insurance business does not necessarily equate to a long relationship with this outstanding company.    In today’s market, with so many agents moving from one agency to another, it is very rare to find the longevity and stability represented by The Old Man award.   True to Westfield’s Midwest roots, their Old Man On the Fence reflects the work ethic and connections valued by this Ohio-based insurer.  Much has changed in the world since the company’s founding in 1848, but it’s core still remains the same:  Sharing knowledge.  Building trust.
